SAE J526 Welded Low-Carbon Steel Tubing (ERW) — Precision Steel Tube for Automotive

Material

SAE J526 tubing is electric-resistance-welded (ERW), single-wall, low-carbon steel precision tubing designed for automotive and similar industrial uses where reliable pressure performance and controlled forming (bending, beading, brazing, and double flaring) are required. The tube is formed from a single steel strip; after welding, the outside weld bead is removed to provide a smooth external surface suitable for assembly and routing in compact automotive packaging.

Note: SAE J526 material is not intended for single-flare applications because the internal weld area can create a potential leak path; if single-flare use is unavoidable, risk must be agreed between purchaser and producer.
