1045 material also called as 45 Steel in China ,Called S45C in Japan.1045 in America,Germany name is 1.1192.
It is used to make small-section quenched and tempered parts with large load and large-scale normalized parts with
small stress,as well as surface-hardened parts that do not require high core strength, such as pins, guide posts,
watch hands
and other components.
Heat treatment
Recommended heat treatment temperature: normalizing 850℃, quenching 840℃, tempering 600℃.
1045 steel is carbon structural steel, with low hardness and easy machining. It is often used in molds as templates,
stubs, guide posts, etc.,
but requires heat treatment.
1045 steel is qualified if its hardness is greater than HRC55 (up to HRC62) after quenching and before tempering.
The practical high hardness is HRC55 (induction quenching HRC58).
