Stainless Steel Corrugated Tubing

This product is a rigid, heat-exchanger-grade corrugated stainless steel tube (wave tube) manufactured from seamless (or welded, if specified) stainless steel tubing and then formed with spiral/annular corrugations to enhance heat transfer. It is NOT a flexible corrugated hose for piping or movement compensation.
Common material options include ASTM A213 TP304/TP304L/TP316/TP316L/TP321, selected based on corrosion risk (chlorides), operating temperature, and fabrication requirements.
Tube type: Rigid corrugated (spiral or annular), for heat exchanger tube bundles
Base tube standard (typical): ASTM A213 (seamless) / optional welded equivalents by request
OD range (typical): 6–127 mm (customizable; aligns with common A213 supply ranges)
Wall thickness (typical): 0.4–12.7 mm (customizable)
Corrugation geometry: Pitch, depth, helix angle, and crest radius tailored to duty (heat transfer vs. pressure drop)
Delivery condition: Solution annealed / pickled or bright annealed; straight lengths or as specified
Higher heat transfer performance by disrupting the thermal boundary layer and improving near-wall mixing
Compact exchanger design potential (same duty with less area, or higher duty in same footprint)
Engineering-friendly rigidity for tube sheets, baffles, and bundle assembly (unlike flexible hoses)
Material options for temperature and sensitization control (e.g., 304L/316L low-carbon; 321 stabilized)
Will corrugation really improve heat transfer?
Yes—corrugated tubes increase turbulence near the wall and can significantly raise heat transfer coefficients versus smooth tubes.
What about pressure drop—will it become too high?
Enhanced tubes always involve a heat-transfer vs. pressure-drop trade-off, so we design corrugation pitch/depth to match your allowable ΔP.
Does corrugation increase vibration risk in tube bundles?
Bundle vibration is a known shell-and-tube concern. Corrugated-tube exchanger designs can achieve better heat transfer and reduced tube bundle vibration under certain configurations.
Is this a flexible corrugated hose?
No—this is a rigid heat exchanger tube intended for fixed installation in exchangers (tube sheets/baffles).
How do you ensure reliability and consistency?
Base tube produced to recognized tubing standards (typical: ASTM A213)
Optional eddy current / UT, PMI, dimensional inspection, and hydro/air leak testing per project requirement
Corrugation geometry inspection (pitch/depth), plus forming-process controls to avoid thinning beyond agreed limits
