Grade AISI 4130 is a low alloy steel pipe that contains elements such as chromium and molybdenum added to its allot as strengthening agents. As compared to conventional carbon alloy pipes, the AISI 4130 Pipe is more receptive to treatments either by heat or by mechanical means. The low content of carbon in AISI 4130 facilitates superior welding operations.
The good strength and its hardenability make chromoly 4130 pipe a good fit for applications that deal with structural employment. If this low alloy steel is manufactured using specification ASTM A519, they are either hot finished or they may be cold finished.
